Choosing a Mild Surfactant System

Massage has been an integral part of baby care in many cultures for generations. Beyond tradition, studies suggest that infant massage can promote bonding, relaxation and skin nourishment when performed gently with an appropriate massage medium.

The BoroPlus FromMaa Massage Oil has been formulated with a scientifically balanced hybrid blend of vegetable oils and highly purified mineral oil – combining nourishment with stability, safety and superior sensory performance, allowing smooth massage with minimal drag on delicate skin.

Why This Blend?

Traditionally, vegetable oils have been widely used for baby massage due to their emollient properties and natural origin. However, many vegetable oils are rich in unsaturated fatty acids, making them susceptible to oxidative degradation when exposed to oxygen, heat, and light. This oxidation can lead to the formation of peroxides, that causes the risk of the oil getting rancid and result in irritatating gentle baby, skin leading to adverse skin reactions. 

Mineral oils on the other hand have a very good lubrication, glide and slip which makes it a superior choice for massaging. Thus, to address these limitations, the BoroPlus FromMaa Massage Oil incorporates a carefully optimized blend of vegetable and inert mineral oils. The BoroPlus FromMaa Gentle Baby Soap incorporates ingredients such as engineered to generate a rich, creamy lather that spreads easily, helping provide effective cleansing and an enjoyable bathing experience. The baby soap is formulated as a Grade 1 soap with 78% Total Fatty Matter (TFM), the highest quality category as per Indian Standards. A higher TFM indicates a greater proportion of skin-conditioning fatty acids and fewer fillers, resulting in a creamier lather, a gentler cleansing experience, and reduced drying of the skin. 

The balanced cleansing system helps remove impurities while maintaining skin comfort, leaving baby skin feeling soft and smooth, ensuring effective cleansing without stripping the skin barrier.

Baby Powder – Managing Moisture and Friction

Baby powder continues to play a role in infant skincare when used appropriately. Areas such as the neck folds, underarms and other skin folds may occasionally experience increased moisture and friction.

The BoroPlus FromMaa Baby Powder has been developed to:

The talc undergoes rigorous quality evaluation and is tested to be Asbestos-free and BTEX-free, supporting product safety and purity standards for baby care applications. The powder is engineered with fine and uniform particles, enabling smooth spreadability and even distribution on the skin. This helps provide a soft, silky feel while minimizing powder drag during application.

Parents should always use baby powder carefully, applying a small amount into their own hands before gently smoothing it onto the baby's skin and avoid using around, eyes, nose, ears and mouth to prevent accidental inhalation.

As the barrier weakens, the skin becomes increasingly permeable to irritants, friction rises during diaper movement, inflammation develops, and diaper dermatitis progresses.

Zinc Oxide – More than just a protective coating

Zinc Oxide is an established skin protectant that forms a breathable physical barrier over the skin. This protective layer helps shield delicate skin from direct contact with irritants such as urine and feces while calming irritation associated with diaper dermatitis5 By forming a breathable film that prevents friction and irritation, zinc oxide supports a healthy skin microenvironment and helps reduce the risk of moisture accumulation that can contribute to skin maceration.
